Ticket Agent: You can purchase a ticket at this counter or from the vending machines over there.

 

Passenger: I’d like a one-way ticket to London, please.

 

Ticket Agent: That will be $50. Would you like a seat reservation?

 

Passenger: Yes, please.

 

Ticket Agent: Here’s your ticket. Your train departs from platform 3 at 2:15 PM.

 

Passenger: Thank you!

 

Dialogue 2: Asking for Information

Passenger: Hi, can you help me? I need to know the next train to Manchester.

 

Information Desk: Sure! The next train to Manchester leaves at 1:45 PM from platform 5.

 

Passenger: How long is the journey?

 

Information Desk: It takes about 2 hours.

 

Passenger: Thank you! Where can I find the platform?

 

Information Desk: Just follow the signs; it’s straight ahead.

 

Dialogue 3: Ticket Issues

Passenger: I think there’s a mistake with my ticket. It says I’m going to Birmingham, but I wanted to go to Bristol.

 

Ticket Agent: Let me check that for you. Can I see your ticket, please?

 

Passenger: Here it is.

 

Ticket Agent: I see the issue. I can change it for you. Would you like a one-way or round trip to Bristol?

 

Passenger: A one-way ticket, please.

 

Ticket Agent: That will be $45.

 

Passenger: Here you go.

Dialogue 4: Buying a Return Ticket

Passenger: Hi, I’d like to buy a return ticket to Edinburgh.

 

Ticket Agent: Sure! When do you want to return?

 

Passenger: I’d like to come back next Sunday.

 

Ticket Agent: That will be $80 for the return ticket. Would you like to choose your seats?

 

Passenger: Yes, please. I prefer a window seat.

 

Ticket Agent: Great! Here’s your ticket. Your train leaves at 10:00 AM from platform 2.
